US Airways No Longer Serving Free Water

US Airways is the worse airline flying today. My only hope is they shutdown! Their management team must be ex-Greyhound managers.

US Airways No Longer Serving Free Water: "

Charging for checked luggage and legroom isn't enough for some carriers -- starting today, coach passengers flying aboard US Airways Inc. must pay for a drink of water.

This morning, US Airways began charging fliers $2 for bottled water and sodas and $1 for teas and coffees. First class members, trans-Atlantic passengers and a select group of others are exempt from the extra fees.

McCain flip flops...again

Funny how things change. Like I said the other day, flip flopping was a huge "issue" just a few years ago. Now no one is hardly talking about it, yet it is very much real and in our face. Senator McCain the other day made a few statements about adoption to the New York Times. Seems he believes that gay couples should not be able to adopt unwanted and endangered children because there is no mamma in da house.

Course, he and his wife have adopted children and he spoke from the position of authority on this matter. Course everyone picked up on the story of his stupidity. Which has now forced his campaign to come out to clarify the "real" meaning of his remarks. Check'em out below.

What is your thoughts and feelings on this? Post a comment!

JOHN MCCAIN BACKTRACKS ON GAY ADOPTION REMARKS
John McCain has backtracked on a statement to the New York Times over the weekend on whether or not same-sex parents should be allowed to adopt children. Said McCain to the paper: 'I think that we’ve proven that both parents are important in the success of a family so, no, I don’t believe in gay adoption.'

The remarks were criticized by PFLAG which responded with research to the contrary.

McCain campaign Director of Communications Jill Hazelbaker sent out the following clarification this afternoon:

'McCain could have been clearer in the interview in stating that his position on gay adoption is that it is a state issue, just as he made it clear in the interview that marriage is a state issue. "

Privacy and your rights are slipping away...do you even know it?

Recently, I had a lengthy conversation with a friend about how I felt it was wrong and should be illegal for companies and the government to access Facebook and others. In as much as these sites are open to the public, should they be used to decide if you can be hired or used against you in court? How many times have you said something stupid to a friend, but that was just between you and them? How many times this week have you said something that was between you and someone else and not for general consumption? At one point in this country we made it illegal for others to record what you say. As we know that is also not as true anymore.

Social sites are by and large a wealth of information on people. Think about it, they tell the world everything from where you go, what events you attend which include political tendencies. Religious affiliations you hold to. The internet is a wonderful and awesome tool. But, like with any tool it needs to be used correctly. Locksmith has tools to open anything, but their are strong rules in place to assure they aren't used wrongfully. Social sites should be afforded the same protections.

No company, or government agency should have access of any kind to them. The government seems to have forgotten who they work for. Would restricting their access to the sites make their jobs harder? Well I would hope so, they are in the business of having to make their case. It should be hard.

In this article the defendant was to be placed on probation, but got two years because based on a photo the judge felt that the man was really not remorseful. This only illustrates again why we the people are have rights and protections under the law. Are you telling me that every other person before you believed them when they said they were sorry? That all you needed was a photograph showing other wise and you would have "put them away?" We are living in a time where we are increasingly being watched and recorded. In many parts of this world you can not go a day without being recorded.

Posting on a social site is the decision of the individual. I am amazed by some of the things people post too. Yet, isn't that what we have always done. Just before it was said between us and no one knew? Is it any different then it was 50 years ago, just now you can see and hear it more? It isn't anything new. Just now, non-breathing non-living entities claim the right to know and see them. They claim they need this information. We have already seen the concept of privacy all but die at this point. Is our privacy something we can even save at this point. Remember when your credit rating was private? Now anyone and everyone can see it, and use it to determine more then if you likely pay for something over time. It is used to decide if you are worthy of living in certain places, be employed or fly on a plane. Amazing how individuals are being told that they need to hold themselves to a level that companies and the government are not.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Two weeks after Joshua Lipton was charged in a drunken driving crash that seriously injured a woman, the 20-year-old college junior attended a Halloween party dressed as a prisoner. Pictures from the party showed him in a black-and-white striped shirt and an orange jumpsuit labeled 'Jail Bird.'

In the age of the Internet, it might not be hard to guess what happened to those pictures: Someone posted them on the social networking site Facebook. And that offered remarkable evidence for Jay Sullivan, the prosecutor handling Lipton's drunken-driving case.

Flip Floppin

Honestly, in the last general election all we heard about was flip flopping. To the point that it drove me nuts. Both sides did it and still do. But, this time it seems bigger and more scary. Have said since day one of Obama's run for the White House, that the problem him was we know nothing of the man.

Who would be in his administration? Excuse me, but haven't we learned by now its the Karl Rove's of the world that is what is scary. Those people that aren't elected that make policy and move the powers to be to this agenda or that agenda. Least with McCain and Clinton we knew what we were getting. As failed as it maybe, least you knew. Obama is an unknown and a that is a much bigger problem. Who is he going to have in the State Department? Who is going to be sitting in the Oval Office pushing policy and direction? Do you really think the President does that?

Yes, Hillary is a bitch, we know that and so we can deal with that. McCain is just stupid, again we have already dealt with that for the last eight years. Change is good when things are broken, that's a given. But, what change is needed and how it will be changed is paramount.

Obama maybe a newbie in the big club, but he is showing he is very good at playing the game, even more so then those that have been up there for decades.

Pretty amazing isn’t it? It sounds like this manager, Tom Marquez, has quite the problem with gay people. This poster reminded me first of the ‘No Blacks’ posters, or the ‘No Irish Need Apply’ posters. It could have easily said:

This store does not believe in Black and White marriages. Any black and white activity, which includes kissing, hugging, touching, or anything else that would make our customers feel uncomfortable is prohibited in the store. You see, the message is the same-only the words are the same. Would the black and white poster be allowed up? Nope. My guess is that Mr. Marquez is going to be in a bit of hot water over this one. Craig, Vitter Sponsor Bill To "Protect" Marriage

6A6FA386-8863-4F9C-B319-EA6FA248254D.jpg

You have got to be kidding me!

Just this week, a group of Republican senators re-introduced the Federal Marriage Amendment to the Constitution, which, as we know, would ban gay marriage.

This isn't especially surprising. Republicans are looking at the political landscape, and they're feeling awfully discouraged. The polls look bad, the base looks depressed, and fundraising looks iffy. Rallying the far-right troops with an anti-gay amendment to the Constitution -- even though it has no chance at even getting so much as a hearing -- might be helpful to the conservative movement.

But the funny part is looking over the list of the 10 original sponsors. Most of the names are predictable -- Brownback and Inhofe, for example -- but there are two others whose names stand out: Sens. David Vitter (R-La.) and Larry Craig (R-Idaho).

Yes, two of the principal sponsors of a constitutional amendment to "protect" marriage include one far-right Republican who hired prostitutes and another far-right Republican who was arrested for soliciting gay sex an airport men's room.

1,000 California Pastors Launch 'Call to Arms' on Same-Sex Marriage

Sounds like it is time to start talking about tax exempt status of churches. When you enter into the political arena then you no longer get to enjoy a tax free status. You got to pay to play in this game. Not to mention with the debt GW has run up, his followers should be equally putting into the kitty just like everyone else!

1,000 California Pastors Launch 'Call to Arms' on Same-Sex Marriage: "

Pastor Jim Garlow of the 2,500-member Skyline Church in San Diego County organized a conference call of more than 1,000 mostly Evangelical ministers yesterday to discuss strategy related to the anti-gay ballot measure headed to California's ballot in November:

Garlow'The strategy session, which included input from lawyers and political consultants, was the opening of what conservative religious leaders hope will become a massive Christian outpouring of support for the proposed amendment. The effort will include a 40-day fast leading up to election day, along with 100 days of prayer. On the weekend before the election, Garlow told the ministers, the goal would be to fill Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego and other amphitheaters with people praying for a ban on gay marriage...All told, organizers said, the ministers on the call lead congregations totaling about 1 million people.'

If you remember, earlier this week I posted that the Church of Latter Day Saints is also gearing up for battle.

Michael Savage: Homosexual Mafia is Raping Children's Minds

Michael Savage, the supreme residential idiot of the far right, (so far it makes a loop) is up to his old bullshit. When he doesn't get enough attention from the conservatives he feels the need to whip up something stupid. Course, I am sitting here posting this shit so I must be nuts too.

Michael Savage: Homosexual Mafia is Raping Children's Minds: "

Talk Radio Network's Michael Savage has unleashed some particularly disgusting anti-gay nonsense on his show this week.

Savage_2'I had to explain to my young son why these two men were holding hands the other day,' said one caller on the June 16th broadcast of anti-gay radio show host Michael Savage's radio show.

Savage responded:

'You've got to explain to the children ... why God told people this was wrong. You have to explain this to them in this time of mental rape that's going on. The children's minds are being raped by the homosexual mafia, that's my position. They're raping our children's minds.'

Media Matters reports that earlier that day another caller had called in to discuss same-sex marriage.

Said Savage: 'It's not a joke when you pervert an institution like marriage, which is in trouble enough. It's not a joke. Our children are being destroyed by this. It's a very important story. The children don't know what to make of it. Children nine, 10 are saying, 'I'm gay.' They don't know what it even means. It's a giant propaganda machine trying to pervert children.'

Lesbian kiss at Seattle ballpark stirs up gay-friendly town

So, what is it with parents that can't talk to the children? The issue here was that a mother had kids with her and she didn't want to "explain" to her children why two women were kissing? Well excuse the hell out of us! Just because your weak and too lazy or lame to talk to your children, maybe you need to stay home? Then you can safely and never have to talk to them about anything.

John McCain’s pursuit of happiness

Just found this and thought it was interesting, let me know what you think.

John McCain’s pursuit of happiness: "

It takes the UK’s Daily Mail to report on the presidential campaign story the US media refuses to cover:

McCain likes to illustrate his moral fibre by referring to his five years as a prisoner-of-war in Vietnam. And to demonstrate his commitment to family values, the 71-year-old former US Navy pilot pays warm tribute to his beautiful blonde wife, Cindy, with whom he has four children.

But there is another Mrs McCain who casts a ghostly shadow over the Senator’s presidential campaign. She is seldom seen and rarely written about, despite being mother to McCain’s three eldest children.

And yet, had events turned out differently, it would be she, rather than Cindy, who would be vying to be First Lady. She is McCain’s first wife, Carol, who was a famous beauty and a successful swimwear model when they married in 1965.

She was the woman McCain dreamed of during his long incarceration and torture in Vietnam’s infamous ‘Hanoi Hilton’ prison and the woman who faithfully stayed at home looking after the children and waiting anxiously for news.

But when McCain returned to America in 1973 to a fanfare of publicity and a handshake from Richard Nixon, he discovered his wife had been disfigured in a terrible car crash three years earlier … In order to save her legs, surgeons had been forced to cut away huge sections of shattered bone, taking with it her tall, willowy figure. She was confined to a wheelchair and was forced to use a catheter.

Through sheer hard work, Carol learned to walk again. But when John McCain came home from Vietnam, she had gained a lot of weight and bore little resemblance to her old self.

And so McCain did what any honorable, loving, family man would do: he immediately started cheating on his faithful wife before eventually dumping her to marry a beautiful heiress 18 years his junior.

For her part, Carol McCain sounds philosophical:

‘My marriage ended because John McCain didn’t want to be 40, he wanted to be 25. You know that happens…it just does.’

But former friends and acquaintances are not so forgiving….

They portray the politician as a self-centred womaniser who effectively abandoned his crippled wife to ‘play the field’. They accuse him of finally settling on Cindy, a former rodeo beauty queen, for financial reasons.

Of course this is America, where everyone has the right to pursue happiness, and if McCain couldn’t be happy married to a woman who wasn’t tall, beautiful and wealthy, then perhaps it was best for him, Carol and their children to end the marriage. But really… enough of this family values character crap for a man who abandoned his crippled wife when she needed him most. One can assume the only reason he’s remained married to Cindy this long is that she’s managed to retain her height, looks, wealth and bladder.

In the words of Ross Perot (who paid Carol’s extensive medical bills while her husband was a prisoner of war):

‘McCain is the classic opportunist. He’s always reaching for attention and glory,’ he said.

‘After he came home, Carol walked with a limp. So he threw her over for a poster girl with big money from Arizona. And the rest is history.’

A history most Americans will never learn.

I respect the fact that this is not an easy issue for some.  Equally, there is no thought to the countless examples of how some are treated just because they are different.  Why?  Who has the right to treat others with distain, hate, or simply rude.  Is it okay to treat anyone this way?

Old thinkers are facing new.  The internet is an amazing and awesome tool.  Some in the Federal government are not  quite sure.  They see the internet and all of us as children.  Instead of listening to that kid in the corner that just might have the answer they are looking for.

The internet teaches us, it brings information to anyone and everyone.  Humans love to talk and spout off, all you have to do is  shut up and listen.  Want to know what  a terrorist group is thinking of doing, its out here.  Lets face it, they embraced the power and ability to communicate to everyone through the web.

Think about it, if you want to know something you go to a library and look it up.  Someone has written about everything at some point and it is all on those shelves.  Same with the net and it is a powerful resource that is waiting for the right person to find it all.  Maybe they should stop trying to train agents, and just hirre some bloggers?

Free Speech Rally for Sally - Christian Newswire

You got to love this one.  Even though I think this is bullshit, I support these groups right to stand up and be heard.  Actually, I am all for people standing up and taking a stance for the positions they hold.  Don't agree with them, but i would rather know what they are doing and saying then them hiding.

In parts of Europe, the most sung song these days is from the Wizard of Oz ... "the witch is dead ... etc,"

Plug-ins come to Aperture - FINALLY

Seems like someone over at Apple is starting to listen to what Aperture users have been asking for.  Maybe those forums aren't such a waste of time after all.  There are so many awesome and smart little things that people come up with to make a awesome experience even better and it would seem Apple cautiously (for good reason) is starting to embrace the creative community on a new level.

Amazes me some of the small but really cool things people come up with.  Those little things, no one thinks about till its needed and in the world of digital creativity the ability for those small wonders to be shared with everyone just makes everything better.  Check out this exciting news coming to Aperture.

U.S. accidentally sends missile parts to Taiwan - CNN.com

Let me get this right.  We were suppose to send them batteries, but they got missile parts instead?  Not to mention this is barely reported.  Do helicopter batteries sit right next to the missile parts?  Opps.

White House destroys computer hard drives - documents lost

Can anyone please explain this to me?  Give me anything?  If anyone else in this country tried to pull this bullshit the government wouldn't care at all.  Next time the government wants something from you simply tell them you don't have it anymore.  Must have got thrown away.  Because throwing it away in this country is acceptable.  Because your leaders have shown it to be true.  Course in todays world, what our leaders do has nothing to do with how you are suppose to conduct yourself.  They live by a different standard, one that you are not entitled to.

Older White House computer hard drives have been destroyed, resulting in millions of possibly missing e-mails from 2003 to 2005. They don't think they can get them back. Things that make you go... hhmmmmmm....
